PARENTS:
Parents play a vital role in a successful swim club. We need everyone to lend
a hand! There are a variety of ways for individuals to assist with meets and the concession stand.
Below, is a list of items needed to be donated and job descriptions for voluteers
in order to give you an idea of how vast the need is!
- Please sign-up at the HSS bulletin
board located in the aquatic center lobby.

- To volunteer, contact Doreen
CONCESSION ITEMS:
Drinks: please bring in week
prior & name brands
- 5 people to bring in a 12 pack
of cola
- 5 people - 12 pack of DIET cola
or Sprite
- 10 people - Powerade or Gatorade
- 16 people - water (16.9 oz) in 12
or 24 packs
- 5 people - Capri Sun/Sunny Delight
Fruit: Please pre-wash
- 2 people - to bring a bag
of apples
- 2 people - bunch of bananas
- 2 people - a bag of oranges
(cut up and put in ziplock bags)
- 2 people - grapes (ziplock bags)
- 5 people - veggies mix - carrots,
celery, broccoli (single serve, 6 per person in ziplock bags) Club supplies ranch dip
Snacks: single serve, pre-packaged, 1 dozen each
- 4 people to bring candy
- 4 people - BAKED GOODS such as: cookies,brownies,
muffins...
- 4 people - granola bars
- 7 people - large bagels, 5 each in
ziplock bags
- 4 people - string cheese (pre-packaged)
- 4 people - chips/pretzels (pre-packaged)
Home Meet Volunteers
and Job Descriptions:
Marshalls:
- Line up swimmers in the proper order according to their seed times.
- Place swimmers at their lanes.
- Marshalls get the swimmers to their respective lane at
the proper time.
- Need: 5 people
Timers:
- Responsible to time the swimmers.
- 2 timers per lane
- Requires standing and the use of a stop watch.
- Records the time on the swimmer's card.
- Need: 12 people plus 1 head timer
Scorers:
- Responsible to add up individual scores on meet sheet.
- Learn the Hytek Meet Manager program
- Need: 3 people
Heat Ribbons:
- Responsible to give ribbon to swimmers who win their heat.
1 per heat for individuals & 4 per heat for relays.
- Need: 1 person
Runners:
- Responsible to take the time cards to the scorers.
- Requires standing and walking.
- Need: 2 people
Awards/Ribbons: Home & Away meets
- Home:
getting labels & putting on ribbons, put in files
- Away:
getting ribbons from opposing team, put in files
- Swimmers
receive ribbons the next Monday.
- Swimmers
receive: placement or participant for each event swam.
DQ’s do not receive a ribbon.
Need 1 person
Parent Helpers:
- Give swimmers their event #'s and write on swimmers' hand
- Be available before warm-up, be on deck w/swimmers, check locker
rooms occationally.
- Need: 3 parents
Set-up & Clean-up:
- Requires being at the pool by 4:15 p.m. to set up (bringing
tables out, setting up chairs, setting up the deck)
- Responsible for putting meet items away & cleaning up deck
area.
- Walk-thru locker rooms after meet, put left behind items in HSS office
- Need: 4 people
Concessions:
- Responsible to set-up -NEED 2 PEOPLE @4:30
- Sell concession goods
- Clean-up -NEED 2 PEOPLE TO STAY TILL THE END.
- Need: 5 people
- Chairperson: Donna St.Charles & Theresa Dudek
Apparel:
- Sell apparel goods to parents
- Need: 3 people
- Chairperson: Becky Esch (will setup/take down)
Away Meet Volunteers:
Marshalls:
- See "Home Meet Volunteers" for job description
- Need: 4 people
Awards:
- Responsible for organizing ribbons for our team
- Collect them when meet is finished
- Give to Doreen for labels
- Need: 1 person
Parent Helpers:
- Same job description as "Home Meet Volunteers"
- Need: 3 parents
